About the Vermont Tourism SummitThe Vermont Tourism Summit draws one of the largest gatherings of tourism professionals in the state including owners, managers and employees of the many businesses connected to this important segment of the economy. If you are part of a tourism-related business or have an interest in the Vermont tourism industry, we invite you to join us to:
What sets the Vermont Tourism Summit apart from similar events is that this is the ONLY opportunity for all Vermont tourism-industry businesses to come together. We're not just inviting lodging properties or attractions, or businesses based in one region of the state. We encourage them all to come together to explore partnership opportunities, to learn from one another, and to grow together. |

“I've found that the VT Tourism Summit provides an excellent opportunity to connect with other areas of the industry that I might not normally cross paths with. I always leave the event with new insights, a head full of ideas, and a pocket full of business cards from new potential collaborators.” 2023 Vermont Tourism Summit Attendee

Where We've BeenRobert Townsend and Mal Bevins, of University of Vermont Extension, initiated the first Vermont Travel Industry Conference (VTIC) in 1983. The purpose of that half-day session was to provide members of the tourism industry with information and research data available through the University. Seven years later, VTIC gained its non-profit status, becoming VTIC, Inc. In 2015, the Board of Directors voted to change the annual conference name to the Vermont Tourism Summit. (learn more)
